Ameel Candy World, a wholesaler specialising in confectionery, snacks, and beverages, celebrates its 25th anniversary by constructing the world’s largest candy cake. This remarkable achievement, consisting of 349,089 candies, signifies a significant milestone in their history. In recognition of this anniversary, a special edition of their event was organised, where national and international suppliers showcased their products, offering customers trade deals and the opportunity to discover new and exclusive items. The clientele of Ameel Candy World is diverse, encompassing newsstands, gas stations, candy and chocolate shops, and major retail chains. Twenty percent of their confectionery is exported to over 32 countries, demonstrating their growing international presence.

This year, Ameel Candy World is introducing a unique addition by constructing a massive candy cake, aiming to set the world record for the largest candy cake. While challenging other countries to break this record, Ameel Candy World proudly holds the title of the current record holder. Associations were invited to assist in building the world’s largest candy cake, and after extensive registration, six associations were selected based on motivation, location, and membership size. Each association provided a construction team of 20 people who collaborated on Saturday, February 24, 2024, to create this impressive project. The candy cake, boasting a diameter of 10 meters and a height of 8.65 meters, is adorned with a staggering 349,089 candies.

For this endeavor, Ameel Candy World partnered with various Belgian confectionery suppliers, including Mr. Mallo, Frisia, Sugar Bakery Joris, and several local manufacturers. International support was also received from Rainbow Dust, the English manufacturer of edible food glue Tylo Powder, and Primus Ouwel, a Dutch manufacturer of edible paper.

On Sunday, February 25, during the first day of their fair, potential and existing customers had the opportunity to be photographed in front of the impressive candy cake. At 5:30 PM, the cake was officially cut in the presence of founder Wilfried Ameel, owner Tom Ameel, purchasing director and initiator Filip Van Vyve, departing CEO Christ Suply, and the new CEO Lander Baesen.

Following the festivities, the 12,000 building blocks of the cake were distributed for free among the six selected associations, allowing them to sell them to finance their activities. This initiative not only aids in raising funds for the associations but also strengthens Ameel Candy World’s ties with the community and reinforces their image as a socially engaged company.
