Lincolnshire-based private label chocolate supplier, Hames Chocolates, has responded to the surge in demand for self-indulgence and affordable luxury during this winter’s peak sales season by expanding its hot chocolate offerings.

Experiencing an impressive annual increase of almost fourfold (+260%) in the value sales of its authentic hot chocolate flakes, the private label expert has introduced a new range of Hames Chocolates Hot Chocolate Stirrers, Hot Chocolate Bombes, and Hot Chocolate Pouches. Catering to the preferences of diverse consumers, these additions complement Hames’ existing line-up of premium products that provide an authentic hot chocolate experience with the simple addition of hot milk.

Available now, the latest offerings are suitable for a variety of retail channels, including multiple and high street retailers, tourism and leisure operators, as well as specialist chocolate shops and gifting. Hames Chocolates is also extending an opportunity for retailers to customize private-label hot chocolate pouches for orders exceeding 1,000 units.

Carol Oldbury, Director of Hames Chocolates, encourages retailers to stock up on the hot chocolate range, stating, “Now that the weather has turned colder, we are urging retailers to stock up on our hot chocolate range to make sure they can meet consumer demand.” Despite economic pressures, consumers are reportedly willing to pay extra for premium-quality hot chocolate products, contributing to the remarkable sales increase of Hames’ real hot chocolate flakes.

Oldbury highlights the popularity of traditional hot chocolate made with milk chocolate, while premium flavours like milk orange and Irish cream have further boosted sales in anticipation of the festive season. With Christmas approaching, the Hot Chocolate products from Hames Chocolates are also positioned as ideal gifts.

New additions to the hot chocolate range include festive-themed products such as “A Very Woolly Christmas Milk Hot Chocolate Spoons” and the “Festive Stag Milk Hot Chocolate Stirrer,” featuring various flavours to suit diverse preferences.

Emphasising their commitment to sustainability, Oldbury notes that all hot chocolate varieties are made from Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa, and the packaging is designed to be environmentally friendly. The hot chocolate pouches and bombes’ packaging components are recyclable, the spoons are packed in compostable bags, and non-chocolate elements are either reusable or recyclable.
