Two HFSS compliant popcorns are available from Sephra Popcorn, what they describe as the UK’s most popular retail popcorn tub. A subsidiary of Sephra Europe, a business which has grown from distributing chocolate fountains, to offering a huge array of delectable dessert products, Sephra Popcorn has a strong retail following through UK supermarkets such as Asda & Morrisons, but is also sold to trade through cfw.co.uk, Sephra Europe’s distribution division.
Its signature, unique, cardboard tubs are available in two HFSS complaint varieties: Sweet 55g and Sweet & Salty 55g. These can be purchased in cases of twelve. HFSS compliant Sephra Popcorn is also available in popcorn bags, introduced earlier this year, and using the same recipe as the popular foil lined tubs. Flavours cover Sweet 100g, Sweet & Salty 100g, and Salted 70g. They can be purchased in cases of eight.
“Our HFSS compliant Sweet popcorn recipe has 40% less sugar than our standard recipe that has been sold in the 140g tubs and 70g tubs for years,” said Callum Bond, Sales & Business Development Manager at Sephra.
“The Sweet & Salty recipe has 30% less sugar than our standard recipe, as sold in the same 140g tubs and 70g tubs. Whilst the Salted recipe is clearly not reduced sugar, as there is no sugar in the recipe, it is still HFSS compliant due to the low sodium Sea Salt used,” he added.
“HFSS compliance is a fast moving target which we see as mainly relevant to our retail customers,” said Callum. “The lower sugar popcorn is proving popular and is an important addition to our range, offering the same taste and quality for which Sephra Popcorn is known.”
