Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen GmbH (WDS) has a record of more than 100 years in engineering confectionery machines known for their quality and flexible modular design. Thanks to their Product Innovation Centre based at the WDS headquarter in Rengsdorf/Germany WDS is today a solution partner, providing all services to transform a product idea into a successful product launch. Most projects start at the Product Innovation Centre where the WDS team of food scientists tests new product concepts using the WDS lab equipment. If the new product idea challenges WDS standard equipment, the WDS in-house engineering team is keen to find new technical solutions.

Globally, WDS is the only machinery manufacturer who has been extremely successful in building moulding plants for jellies and chocolates for decades. This versatility together with a deep knowledge concerning complex moulding processes have created a modern generation of moulding plants for gums and jellies as well as chocolates which set new standards according to efficiency, hygiene, and product treatment: The demand has changed from large capacity lines for a dedicated product towards flexible lines which entertain multiple different products with a medium to large production capacity.

Thanks to the large WDS machining-centre they have full control about the parts and assembly quality, especially when it comes to the heart-piece, the depositor.

Another main focus for Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen: the consistent further development of the WDS services LifeCycleCare. LifeCycleCare stays at your side for an entire machine life: remote support from start-up to troubleshooting and process optimisation. WDS stands for excellent After-Sales Services providing upgrades and retrofits of existing lines.

Starchless plants

For a couple of years now starchless production technology has been used very successfully for the manufacturing of toffees, fondant and jellies.

Referring to the rapidly growing market for OTC gums and jellies with its high demands for hygienic production plants WDS has developed a new direction regarding the moulding processes.

A change towards polycarbonate moulds allowed the development of a completely new, clean and highly efficient plant technology for jelly manufacturing, which has its roots in the moulding of chocolates: ConfecECO and ConfecPRO are characterised by precise cavity spraying, exact depositing and ordered demoulding.

Mogul plants

WDS is experienced in the production of jelly and gum (on pectin basis, gum arabic, gelatine, agar-agar, carrageen), as well as liquorice, fondant, cream, marshmallow foam and similar masses. A core expertise is the depositing of centre-filled products with e.g., a fruit paste filling.

With the Mogul Type 660 WDS more than ever has focused on standardization as well as consistent modular design. The result is a highly efficient, long-lasting quality machine with chainless GuidedPusherSystem.

Chocolate

WDS serves small to large sized businesses with capacities from 200 kg/h to 7000 kg/h.

The ConfecECO is the start-up line for the production of plain, centre-filled bars, pralines and masses with inclusions – as mentioned above also suitable for jellies!

The ConfecPRO is a chocolate production plant for confectionery manufacturers who want to target a medium to high output quantity. Its modular design together with the decentralized electrical control ensures an easy future growth-oriented expansion at small expenditures.

Hard Candy

Hard Candies are produced using aluminium moulds. The WDS Multisweet technology allows for more sophisticated hard-candy shapes such as a flower or a heart by using special polycarbonate moulds.
Quality, innovation, short response times and a worldwide distribution which is built on superior service are exactly the requirements that the global markets set to a modern company. Therefore, hardly one WDS system resembles another. Individuality in planning and design has thus become the special profile of WDS over the years.
