Givaudan, a global leader in the Taste & Wellbeing sector, has commenced the construction of its new production facility in Cikarang, Indonesia. This strategic investment underscores the company’s commitment to the rapidly growing Southeast Asian market and emphasizes its goal of driving sustainable growth. The state-of-the-art facility represents an initial investment of CHF 50 million and spans 24,000 square meters, with an additional 26,000 square meters reserved for future expansions.
The Cikarang site will focus on producing a variety of products, including savory, sweet, and snack powders, as well as infant nutrition solutions. It will complement Givaudan’s existing operations in Indonesia, allowing the company to better serve its customers in the region with closer proximity and enhanced production capabilities.
Louie D’Amico, President of Givaudan’s Taste & Wellbeing division, highlighted the strategic importance of the new facility. “The new facility in Cikarang marks a significant investment in Indonesia, reinforcing our commitment to expanding Givaudan’s manufacturing footprint in the Southeast Asia region. As market leaders, this expansion also enables us to seize growth opportunities through closer collaboration with our customers,” he said.
Givaudan’s new facility is designed with long-term growth in mind, featuring cutting-edge technologies and processes that will enable future expansions. The construction is expected to be completed within 18 months, with operations slated to begin in the first half of 2026. The facility will create around 60 jobs across various skill levels, contributing to local employment and economic development.
Aligned with Givaudan’s sustainability goals, the Cikarang facility will incorporate a range of eco-friendly technologies, including solar power, rainwater harvesting systems, recycled water systems, and energy-efficient lighting. These features will help minimize environmental impact while ensuring the long-term operational resilience of the site. The company also plans to source electricity from certified green energy providers, further reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.
Christina Yeo, Head of Operations for the Asia-Pacific region, spoke at the ground-breaking ceremony, emphasizing Givaudan’s commitment to the community and sustainable growth. “At Givaudan, we are dedicated to purposeful growth. This ground-breaking ceremony represents a significant milestone, strengthening our production capabilities to co-create exceptional food experiences with our customers. By expanding our manufacturing footprint and enriching the communities we operate in, we continue to thrive on all fronts,” she remarked.
The ceremony was attended by key government officials and members of Givaudan’s senior leadership, marking a pivotal moment for the company’s expansion in Indonesia. The new Cikarang facility aims to meet the rising demand for innovative food solutions in the region, positioning Givaudan as a key player in the market while contributing to the sustainable development of Indonesia’s economy.
