Tony’s Chocolonely has expanded its core chocolate range with the launch of Popcorn Crunch, a new 180g milk chocolate bar that taps into the growing consumer appetite for sweet-and-salty flavour combinations and sharing occasions.

Designed around the popular movie night occasion, the new product combines Tony’s signature creamy milk chocolate with roasted, caramelised popcorn pieces, delivering a crunchy texture alongside sweet and savoury notes inspired by classic cinema snacks.

The latest addition joins the brand’s permanent chunky bar range and continues Tony’s strategy of pairing indulgent flavour innovation with its commitment to responsible cocoa sourcing.

Available at an RRP of £4, the Popcorn Crunch bar launched in Sainsbury’s on 12 July, followed by ASDA from 20 July, before rolling out to WHSmith, Morrisons, Waitrose, independent chocolate retailers and Tony’s online store.

The launch targets multiple consumption occasions, from sharing on the sofa and family movie nights to individual snacking and cinema visits, reflecting continued demand for experiential confectionery products that combine familiar flavours with distinctive textures.

Beyond the flavour profile, Tony’s says every purchase contributes towards its wider mission to help transform cocoa supply chains in West Africa. Like the rest of the company’s chocolate portfolio, the new Popcorn Crunch bar is made using 100% traceable cocoa beans sourced through Tony’s Open Chain, the company’s sourcing model built around five principles designed to help cocoa farmers achieve a living income through long-term partnerships.

The launch comes as the cocoa sector continues to face significant challenges, including declining yields caused by climate pressures and crop disease in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, which together account for around 60% of global cocoa production. Tony’s maintains that improving farmer incomes and investing in sustainable production is essential not only for addressing issues such as child labour and deforestation but also for securing the long-term future and quality of chocolate.
