Formerly known as a classic product related to ice cream, the wafer cone gets more and more popular in combination with chocolate filling. The German manufacturer WALTERWERK KIEL, specialist in wafer baking machines, takes advantage of this trend and presents several ideas for wafer-chocolate combinations at the ProSweets/ISM in Cologne.

Markus Bartels, one of two general managers at WALTER, explains: “For some time chocolate filled mini cones (60-65 mm) have been quite popular but now there is a huge demand of production equipment for so-called micro cones with a length of only 35-45 mm. The simple reason for this is that many consumers see the chocolate-filled tip of their ice cream cone as the highlight of the eating experience. Now you can have a whole bag full of the delicious tips.”

To make them look like the broken tip of an ice cream cone, WALTER has developed its own component for shortening the cone. The advantage of this product over the individually sold and wrapped mini cones is the fact that it is sold in bulk for snacking in a stand-up bag. The RnD division at WALTER puts in a lot of effort to provide more and more systems for the classic confectionery market. No matter whether wafer bars or cones, consumers can look forward to delicious new wafer-chocolate combinations.

For more information, you will find WALTER at ProSweets at stand D-008 in hall 10.1. directly at the hall entrance.
