For over 20 years, the German packaging machine manufacturer Schubert has been represented with a sales subsidiary in the United Kingdom. Mark Stepney, Managing Director of Schubert UK Ltd., and his team are dedicated to making the innovative automation and robot technology from Crailsheim available to local brand owners and confectionery manufacturers. Key areas of focus are the Schubert lightline machine series for standardised packaging tasks and expert consulting on more sustainable packaging processes. The Schubert UK team’s most important goal is to support local companies in making their production processes more efficient, leaner and more cost-effective.

Schubert UK was founded in Birmingham in 2002. Prior to this, the Schubert innovation driver had been active on British soil with its modular, robot-assisted top-loading machines through commercial agents. Birmingham is the second largest city in the United Kingdom after London and its central location makes it strategically very attractive: An international airport, international railway network and conveniently located motorways ideally connect the region. Cadbury, also based in Birmingham, was Schubert UK’s very first customer.

On board from the very beginning: Long-standing loyal customers

Schubert UK started with a small team of four people. Twenty-two years later, under the management of Mark Stepney, the team has grown to twenty loyal employees, who work on innovative packaging solutions for their customers every day. The employees work together as a well-coordinated team and have far-reaching expertise. Schubert UK also delivers exceptionally high levels of reliable and comprehensive service, which is exactly what customers appreciate about the British Schubert subsidiary. Schubert UK has a long list of customers who have loyally stood by the company since its launch 22 years ago and accompanied it on its forward-looking journey.

Preconfigured and exceptionally efficient: The lightline machine series

Many of Schubert UK’s current customers are opting for the Schubert lightline machine series. Be it a Cartonpacker, a Pickerline or a Flowpacker for packaging confectionery into flowpacks – the preconfigured packaging machines complete standardised packaging tasks with exceptional efficiency and outstanding quality. A major advantage of the Schubert lightline series is that the machines are delivered and up and running in a very short time. They also ensure a reliable and trouble-free packaging process with hallmark Schubert quality, together with proven functional principles being applied to handling of the bare product and all the way through to ready-to-ship packaging.

Sustainability is the name of the game at Schubert

Making a positive contribution to the environment is especially important to the UK team. The company is also committed to the Mission Blue sustainability initiative, which Schubert introduced in Germany in May 2022. With this initiative, the packaging machine manufacturer is pursuing goals such as sustainable corporate management and climate-neutral production. Schubert also supports its customers with durable machines and optimised packaging to create more environmentally friendly packaging solutions. Of course, all packaging machines from the Schubert lightline machine series can also package with more sustainable materials. For example, the lightline Pickerline can effortlessly fill trays made of cardboard and the Flowpacker can process monofilms, which are more environmentally friendly. As a value-oriented family business that thinks in terms of generations, Schubert aims to contribute to a healthy environment and a future worth living in.
