Simply Ice Cream, renowned for its commitment to crafting exquisite artisanal ice cream, is thrilled to announce that its Salted Caramel Ice Cream has been awarded the coveted Gold Award in the Great British Food Awards. This recognition celebrates Simply Ice Cream’s dedication to producing top-quality, indulgent treats that capture the hearts and palates of ice cream enthusiasts across the UK.
Each tub of Salted Caramel ice cream is made with 50% double cream and swirled with thick, sweet and creamy Salted Caramel. The popular flavour is one of their best sellers, and can be found in over 450 outlets throughout the Southeast, including Waitrose, Morrisons and Southern Coop. The winning entry will now be regarded as one of the very best products available within the UK’s exciting food and drink sector in 2023.
The product was judged by editor-in-chief of Great British Food, Holly Shackleton, to be a prime example of Great British food and drink – demonstrating not only delicious flavour, but also providing an optimum eating experience and one-of-a-kind enjoyment.
Shackleton described Simply Ice Cream’s Salted Caramel ice cream as: “Satisfyingly salted and buttery in flavour, this is like sticking your spoon straight into a jar of the most indulgent homemade salted caramel but in ice cream form. The texture is just as good as the flavour. So thick, creamy and luscious it brings to mind clotted cream, it might well be the most decadent-textured ice cream I’ve ever eaten.”
Launched in 2014 to celebrate the very best artisanal produce in the UK’s food and drink industry – and to give a promotional platform to its passionate brands and makers – the Great British Food Awards are proud to have an array of food industry icons on its judging roster.

From cheese to spirits, confectionery to snacks, ice cream to beer and baked goods (and everything in between), The Great British Food Awards honours and supports the entirety of the UK’s food industry.
Having been awarded the highest accolade within the Great British Food Awards 2023, Simply Ice Cream’s Salted Caramel ice cream will now be promoted across Great British Food’s print, online and social channels in celebration of its achievement.
The artisan confectioners make fresh batches of their ice cream daily, according to their in-house recipes that include over 30 flavours. A 500ml sharing tub can be bought for £5.99 or a 120ml single portion tub for £3.
